The Bay Area is full of unique engagement photo locations providing gorgeous landscapes from beaches to mountains to deserts. There truly is something for everyone when it comes to finding unique Bay Area engagement photo locations, and I’m excited to share them with you!
When I first moved to the Bay Area, I was so excited to explore so many new places, and photograph my couples in gorgeous California golden hour. And lemme tell you…it has lived up to, and exceeded, my expectations!! Between the city skyline of San Francisco, the rolling open hills in East Bay, redwood groves in Los Altos, and ocean views all along the coast, there is a little of something for everyone in the Bay Area.
I include engagement sessions in most of my wedding packages, so I’ve had the awesome opportunity to photograph lots of my wedding couples all around the Bay. It has been a blast, and I’ve learned so much (like how popular the Palace of Fine Arts is and how Baker Beach isn’t the most ideal spot for sunset photos if you also want to capture the bridge), and found some truly unique engagement photo location spots that I’m really excited to share with you in this post.
Borges Ranch in Walnut Creek (East Bay Area Location)
Borges Ranch in Walnut Creek is a gorgeous location for golden hour photos!! With giant trees, a barn, golden hills, and wandering trails, this spot provides a great natural landscape for engagement photos.
Kirby Cove (North Bay Area Location)
Kirby Cove is the most enchanting little beach with the most epic Golden Gate Bridge view. This requires a bit of a hike, but it is well worth it!
Lake Chabot Regional Park (East Bay Area Location)
Lake Chabot is absolutely beautiful and has a lovely little boardwalk you can use. In addition to the lake, there is also open green space, and redwood trees, which are great for photos.
Palo Alto Arizona Cactus Garden at Stanford (South Bay Area Location)
This lovely spot is both a personal and client favorite! The unique plants in this cactus garden provide for some really beautiful photos. Plan to park in the mall parking lot and then walk to the location.
Elizabeth Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto (South Bay Area Location)
This garden is another Palo Alto gem, with beautiful flowers and trees. I also love the white terrace structure in the garden—it makes for really beautiful photos!
